I LOVED THIS CARD OF STARS FROM THE 1960'S WITH DEAN MARTIN & DICK YORK IN PARTICULAR BECAUSE I AM SUCH A HUGE FAN OF ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY & DICK YORK AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE CAST FROM "BEWITCHED". I HAD TO POST THIS BECAUSE IT WAS KIND OF IRONIC FOR ME TO FIND TWO OF MY FAVORITE MEN OF ALL TIMES ON THE SAME CARD OF STARS FROM THE 60'S. I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE THIS GREAT FIND IN HONOR OF THESE TWO MEN.

ETHEL HARUTUN OWNED THE DOLL HOUSE IN THE 1940'S AND 50'S. SHE RECALLS FREQUENT CUSTOMERS TO INCLUDE DEAN MARTIN, FRANK SINATRA, SAMMY DAVIS JR., JOEY BISHOP, ESTHER WILLIAMS, & HOWARD HUGHES. ALOT OF TIMES THERE WOULD BE 15 STAR NAMES AROUND. THEY HAD ALL THE MOVIE STARS. BEFORE SHE OWNED THE DOLL HOUSE HARUTUN SAYS, PEGGY LEE WAS A SINGER THERE & THATS WHERE SHE WAS DISCOVERED.

Hey pallies, likes was so thrilled to read this stellar piece of Dinohistory at a blog tagged Tom's Blog. The year is 1961 and JFK has withdrawn his invite to the Sam to the Presidental Inaugural Ball...and what did our gallant hero Dino do...he cancelled his appearance at the bash in likes total support of his pallie Sam...how that is what I sez is total class...and that's our Dino...the greatest of the great...the coolest of the cool....a true man of courage....and a true freedom fighter for the rights of all people. 1961- Frank Sinatra¹s Ratpack had campaigned hard for their friend John F. Kennedy for president. Black entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. had worked particularly hard to help Kennedy win the African American vote. But Sammy had a preference for blond white actresses and had married one, May Britt in 1960. To fend off negative publicity this day JFK had his secretary Mrs. Lincoln telephone Sammy Davis and un-invite him to the President¹s Inaugural Ball. We¹re Liberal, but not that liberal. And uhh..thanks for the help. Dean Martin was so angry at this insult to his friend that he cancelled his appearance at the inaugural. In 1968 Sammy Davis angered the black community when he embraced republican Richard Nixon.
